The Digital Health & Care institute is part of the Scottish Funding Council’s Innovation Centre Programme. We bring together people and organisations in the health and social care, charity, technology, design and academic sectors to develop new ideas for digital technology that will improve the delivery of health and care services for the people of Scotland.
Scotland provides a rich platform for academic excellence, with nineteen Universities, some of whom lead the way in informatics, life sciences and medicine. This is built upon by progressive Health & Care services, willing and able interact with other sectors in pursuit of innovation.
Here, at the Digital Health & Care Institute (DHI), we harness these capabilities, delivering value for academic, business and civic partners through our dynamic innovation model. The model is made up of the three settings below, which will overlap and sequence dynamically to meet the needs of varying opportunities.
Communicare247 is entrusted with the health, safety and wellbeing of tens of thousands of vulnerable end users who can be located anywhere in the world.
We are contracted by Police, Health & Social Care Providers, the Third Sector and Corporate organisations to support their duty of care, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
With interactive services including GPS and location aware devices, Smartphone Apps
and 24 hour Monitoring combined, we offer the latest digital solutions for the digital world we live in.
We support and reassure lone workers, we safeguard those living with the fear of crime and we assist in the delivery of independent living for the elderly or people living with chronic illness.
Our Intelligent Digital Systems offer a new way of independent living, reassurance and safeguarding. A Digital way.
